Identify what you hold
List the metal, product name, quantity, weight and purity. For a certified coin, include the service, grade and certification number. Photograph the item and any packaging clearly, without publishing personal details. If you inherited a holding and are uncertain what it contains, say so rather than guessing the specification.
Preserve the item’s condition
Do not clean, polish, open grading holders or discard original packaging before asking for an assessment. Collector appeal may depend on condition and accompanying materials. Keep invoices and certificates where available; missing paperwork can mean further checks are needed, rather than making an item automatically unsaleable.
Understand an indicative offer
An initial figure may be subject to inspection, testing, identity checks and market movement. Ask when the price becomes fixed, which fees apply and how settlement would work. Compare offers on the net amount you would receive for the same items at a similar time.
Agree the handover before sending
Confirm the receiving arrangements, responsibilities during transit and what happens if the final offer differs from the initial indication. Do not post items to a registered office without an agreed process. Use Rosebud’s Sell to Us form to describe your holding and request the next steps.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Understand the product.
Ask about the details.
Request a current written quotation and confirm all charges, availability and fulfilment terms. Precious metals can fall in value. Collector premiums may not be recovered on resale.
